Find your purpose.
This is an area that’s easy to skip because you may just want to start doing things. Maybe doing healthy stuff, maybe coming up with activities that will help your year. But your purpose is your reason, your guide as you are living out your life. Do you want to help as many people as you can, Is your purpose to provide for your family. Or is it to become famous?
There are so many things that can be listed as your purpose, but once you understand that, you’ll be on your way to achieving your goals. Why, because it eliminates endless wandering around coming up with good things to do that arent actually getting you anywhere. If your goal is to help people but you keep doing activities that seem good but they aren’t helping people, then you won’t be satisfied at the end of it all. Guys understanding your purpose is key to success here.
When you have purpose, as long as you’re moving, you’re moving towards your goal.
Create good habits
We’ve talked about it long enough. You know you should exercise and eat better. But the problem is that you struggle actually doing those things long term. The secret, our habits. If you want success in doing the healthy things you know will help you to feel better, then set up your life to make these things habits.
If you want the habit of exercising. You must do more than just say, I’d like to exercise more. Set aside a certain time in the day to exercise. Make sure that you have everything ready so that you can exercise without any boundaries. Go to bed with your running shorts on if you need to. Or have your shoes just outside the bed so that you can slip them right on and head to the gym.
Healthy food habits. If you are surrounded with healthy things, it’s much easier to choose them then if you have to decide every day if you’re going to eat healthy or not. Have healthy snacks in your car. Get rid of the skack drawer or replace the unhealthy snacks with healthy ones.
Plan in your calendar to see those health providers that contribute to your better health. You have to make time to achieve health.
Good habits lead to good health choices. Bad habits, well, you know what they lead to.
Learn to enjoy the process.
Being healthy this year is not a simple task but if you take the attitude of “I’ll be happy when I reach my goal” It may be a long time before you’re happy. SO learn to be happy throughout this process, every step you take gets you closer and closer to the goal of great health and I’m so excited to be on this journey with you.
