Hi, today I’m going to talk about some ideal sleep conditions to help you get the best night’s sleep ever. And the first thing we talk about is what you can do in your bedroom to make it an ideal condition.
Darkness
First thing is complete darkness. The darker your room, the better you’re going to sleep. So get some room darkening shades so that you can keep all of the light out.
Bedroom Temperature
The other thing is to keep your bedroom temperature cool. No higher than 70 degrees is the recommended, but really between 60 and 68 is ideal because it actually mimics your body’s natural temperature. At night your body temperature actually drops, so that will equal it out and it’ll give you a perfect night’s sleep.
Put that phone Away
You also want to eliminate any electric and electromagnetic fields, the EMS in your bedroom, no cell phone in the bedroom. Ideally, I know a lot of you, this is your being key. You need this to sleep, but if that’s true, you need it for your alarm. Keep it at least three feet away from your body. What it does, it actually disrupts the production of melatonin, and serotonin, and that’s the hormone in your body that helps regulate when it’s time to sleep and when it’s time to wake up. And also EMF exposure is linked to changes that affect your memory and your ability to learn. So you’ll actually be smarter if you don’t sleep with your telephone. If you have a clock, keep it again, three feet from you.
No TV before bed
Also, take the TV out of the bedroom because that’s going to keep you up later watching TV.
So these are some things that you can do to keep your bedroom ideal. The other, of course, is to get the most comfortable bed for you. That’s whether it’s going to be hard or soft is totally personal preference. Same with a pillow. You just have to try different pillows until you find one that works for you. And once you have those things done, and we can talk about some other things, which we’ll do next time, have a great day.
