Dr. Emil Tompkins is going to share with you five steps to ketogenic healing, and they’re actually very simple.
First Step is you need to consume more fat. That’s right, I wasn’t kidding. If you’re going to achieve real health, make a real difference in how your body is feeling and functioning you actually have to consume more fat. The right fat plays a key role in the health of your brain, your memory and your thinking in general as well as losing weight.
Second Step, cut carbohydrates. It’s the carbohydrate that is pro-inflammatory. It’s the carbohydrate and the sugar that’s causing you to be overweight and creates the inflation that causes pain. That’s huge.
Third Step, limit fruit. Even though fruits have many vitamins and antioxidants they also provide lots of sugar. Unfortunately, we have to really limit, almost eliminate fruits, so that you can have that ketogenic effect where your body is going to burn fat and your brain’s going to be built. Definitely want to limit fruit.
Fourth Step is called intermittent fasting. There’s some new research on how we eat, what time and how much we eat and the affect it has on the way our body responds to our diet. Intermittent fasting in a very short nutshell is spending a pretty significant period of time where we aren’t eating. You stop eating by about 7:00pm or 8:00pm, and you don’t eat again until around lunchtime or 1:00pm. So between 8:00pm and 1:00pm, you haven’t eaten anything, and your body starts to burn fat. When you start eating at 1:00pm until about 8:00pm you’re consuming normal foods that are part of the program you’re on. That is what intermittent fasting is. It’s pretty simple, and it actually works incredibly well in helping your body to reduce inflammation and helping your body to burn fat.
Fifth Step is just thinking about your portions. You want to make sure you’re eating healthy amounts of food but not too much. Think about portion control, it makes a huge difference.
Increase your fat, limit your carbohydrates, reduce your fruit intake, consider intermittent fasting, and reduce your portions. Those are the steps to ketogenic healing.
