How Can You Beat Physical Stress?
Modern life is a busy and stressful experience that can provide disastrous effects on your health. We all know that physical stress can have a big effect on your health, but did you know there are different ways to combat it?
This is why we offer chiropractic care.
For some of those things that cause physical stress like auto accidents, slips and falls, repetitive work type of activities, etc., Chiropractic care, will relieve the pain of the injuries caused by these types of activities. Watch the full video on how can YOU beat physical stress:
Causes of Physical Stress
- Auto accidents can be a great source of physical stress. And it doesn’t take a high-speed impact to cause injuries for they can have long-lasting effects.
- Slips and falls are also common sources of physical stress in the form of soft tissue damage, muscle injuries, and spinal misalignment. And if left untreated, these injuries can lead to a whole host of problems, including chronic pain and long-term disability.
- Repetitive work like typing on the computer for hours without taking breaks. Or working for too many consecutive days with little relief by doing other things. These types of activities don’t actually cause as much damage in one sitting, but over time, the results can be disastrous.
There’s a condition called repetitive strain injuries that can be caused by these types of activities. And sometimes it’s difficult to diagnose because it doesn’t present itself until after the damage has been done, which is why prevention is super important.
How to Stop Physical Stress
To stop physical stress, one of the first things that we recommend is exercise. Exercise will help improve the strength in your joints and overall body, making you resistant to injuries. And exercise can take a lot of different forms: from high-intensity interval training to light stretching exercises. (Check out Myths about Exercises.)
Talking with your healthcare provider or sitting down with a personal trainer at your gym is your best option. If you’re not sure what type of exercises are right for you, have a chat with your family chiropractor to come up with an exercise program that would work.
Other treatments for physical stress include chiropractic adjustments. Your chiropractor will take a look at your spine to see if there are any misalignments that could cause pulled muscles or pain. Adjusting these areas will help relieve the pressure on those joints so that you can move without discomfort.
Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic care makes a huge difference in treating chronic physical stress. Adjustments assist your body in healing itself. Now there’s one part of the body that controls everything: the nervous system. Your brain sends messages down the spinal cord, to all the nerves to every part of the body. And as long as that pathway is clear, things tend to function really well.
But different things can happen. We can have misalignments in the spine that puts pressure on those nerves. Those nerves affect other parts of the body. And as a chiropractor, it’s our job to find and correct those misalignments in the spine, those subluxations. And when we do that, your body works better.
So if you’re dealing with physical stress, approach a chiropractor to improve your health and your life. And that’s my hope for you. Schedule an appointment with us here.
