Does your body hurt? Have you tried numerous therapies, exercises, stretches, only to see your pain continue? While those things are important in many circumstances, one of the most important things you can do is to change how you’re eating. Our food can have an amazing impact on the level of pain that we have.
If you are eating the standard American Diet, chances are you’re eating foods that are pro-inflammatory. These foods
will, over time, increase pain and inflammation throughout the body. These foods have a low IF rating, or inflammatory factor rating. If the foods have a lower number, they are more inflammatory to the body. If they have a higher number they are anti inflammatory.
If you’re going to make a change in the inflammatory levels in your body, the first thing you should stop eating is sugar, or anything high in sugar. Several observational studies have shown a positive relationship between the sugar content (glycemic load) of food and the levels of inflammatory markers in the blood. C-Reactive Protein (CRP), haptoglobin, Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR), and transferrin are several inflammatory markers that can be measured in the blood and used to determine the effects of diet and lifestyle on inflammation. They can also be used to measure treatment efficacy. In healthy humans, CRP has shown a strong relationship to dietary glycemic intake; implying that the types of foods we consume may influence the levels of inflammation in the body and perhaps our susceptibility to diseases such as heart disease and diabetes.
The increase in inflammatory markers in the body after sugar intake have been documented so, if you want to go through life pain free. First off, drop the sugar. Not only will it increase pain but also increases your chances of becoming overweight. Sugar intake increases your likelihood of heart disease and diabetes. Heart disease is widely known as the number 1 killer in America. We also know that diabetes will shorten your life by 17 years. If you don’t mind putting yourself at risk of dying entirely too early, then by all means, go ahead and indulge in as much sugar as you’d like.
You might wonder, “how do I decrease sugar intake when I LOVE sugar so much”. You absolutely want to cleanse. Cleansing with an elimination diet. The elimination diet will get you off the sugar for a period of time long enough for your cravings to decrease. The cleanse will “reset” your body so that you can see some fantastic changes in your health.
A great cleanse is one available through Metagenics called Ultra Clear. The Ultra Clear activates the liver and kidneys so that your body will cleanse on its own. If you would like to participate in a cleanse and eliminate your cravings for sugar, click here to order Ultra Clear and we’ll be happy to get you started on your journey to health.
