Tonight’s advanced nutrition class was awesome, we were learning about parasites. Yes, parasites.
They affect more people than you can imagine. This is not something confined to 3rd world countries. We are exposed to parasites daily. Unwashed fruits and veggies, pork products, sushi, walking barefoot outside. I bet you can come up with a couple of those things you’ve experienced or your kids have experienced. Here’s how you can test yourself for some of the common signs of parasites.
- Stick out your tongue: What does it look like? Is it white? A white tongue is a sign of parasites or fungal infection
- Underneath the upper lip. Are there bumps or lumps? This can be a sign of parasite or fungal infection.
- Dark circles under the eyes. (This can happen for a few reasons, parasites are one of them)
- Insomnia
- Rashes, acne
- ADHD
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Constipation
If you are experiencing those things, you will want to begin a program that will help you to improve your body’s immune response and remove the bacterial or fungal parasitic infection that you’re expereincing.
To take care of this problem, you’ll want to take 2 steps.
A complete nutritional protocol that provides supplements to help your body to:
- cleanse
- improve stomach acid production
- replace normal gut flora
- anti fungal supplements
- specific anti parasitic supplements.
These steps will kill any parasite, disrupt the parasites ability to reproduce, restore a normal environment in the body. It can take some time, but you will see a difference in your health.

Once you’ve put those things into place, the next step is to make sure you’re not putting your body into a position to be more susceptible to these infections.
An overabundance of stress increases our body’s level of cortisol, depresses the immune system, and allows the body to be more susceptible to any infection, much less parasitic infections. You must take steps to reduce the levels of stress in your body. Here are 5 steps to reduce your stress levels. Taken from my 5 step IDEAS System for Stress Relief:
Step 1: I – Identify the areas of your life that cause stress
Step 2: D – Dietary changes that lower your body’s cortisol levels
Step 3: E – Exercise in a way to reduce stress (high intensity interval training)
Step 4: A – Accepting the stresses you have no control over allow you to respond to those stress levels better.
Step 5: S – Survey the various stress management techniques. (deep breathing, exercise, prayer, etc.) figure out what works best for you and make sure you do it as often as you can.
Put these pieces together, dietary changes, supplements, and stress management and you’ll be on your way to ridding your body of parasites and completely strengthen your immune system.

Have a healthy week.
