At our office we see a lot of families and children and I am asked that question quite often and before I answer it, I want you to think about this. When you are driving your car, the tires may be slightly out of alignment. You may not notice the problem right away because it’s not affecting your driving. however over time, this alignment problem can lead to your car beginning to shake, and over the long term, creating an unsafe driving situation.
The same thing can happen in your baby’s body. The trauma of birth can create some tiny misalignments that affect the way the nervous system is functioning. However, these changes are small and you may not notice it in your child. The damage, continues and over time, much more serious things begin.
Misalingments in the spine in children are related to ear infections and colic. Those are the 2 most common reasons parents bring their baby to our Tucson Chiropractic office. I think that the earlier those problems are detected and corrected, the better. Our earliest patient was 2 days old. Our average newborn visit is between 3 and 4 weeks old.
We have parents from all over northwest Tucson and Marana who bring their children in for the first time. They will receive a thorough exam and a few CRACKS and they’re good to go. Just kidding. Adjustments for babies and children are incredibly gentle.
If you want your child to receive an evaluation of their nervous system, please contact us at 520-572-2596. I’m Dr. Emil Tompkins and I wish you and your family a healthy day.
